Boys State 2025

Boys State.jpg

American Legion Post 63 strongly supports the Boys State program. American Legion Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high school students. It is a summer leadership and citizenship programs for high school juniors, which focus on exploring the mechanics of American government and politics. Boys are usually nominated by their high school during their junior year. The Boys State program began in 1937 and is held in Tallahassee. Participants spend an entire week learning the complexities of citizenship: rights, privileges, and responsibilities. The environment isn’t just a classroom; there is lots of hands-on experience, and the participants will learn the backbone of governance: the structure of city, county, and state government based on the Florida State Constitution. The program aims to cultivate a diverse generation of informed citizens equipped to tackle tomorrow’s challenges and uphold the principles of democracy, integrity, and service to others.
