The American Legion, Post 63, was honored to contribute to a community initiative dedicated to preserving the cleanliness of our neighborhoods while offering JROTC participants the opportunity to earn community service hours. As part of this commitment, Post 63 and JROTC participants took part in the Adopt-A-Highway clean-up event on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The cleanup concentrated on a designated two-mile section of West Colonial Drive in Winter Garden, FL. The post provided all the necessary supplies, while the youth participants were organized into teams of two or four (each supervised by adults) with all safety protocols strictly observed.
One of the Legion’s main pillars focuses on the development of our community’s youth. This event made for a great opportunity since colleges and employers both value candidates who demonstrate well-rounded character and engage in activities beyond academics. This cleanup included meaningful community involvement that enhanced scholarship and job applications for our youth, reflecting our dedication to service and personal development.
