This patriotic event took place in Veterans Memorial Park and was led by David Kassander, Commander of the American Legion Post 63. Keynote speakers included District 11’s Congressman – Daniel Webster, the Mayor for the City of Winter Garden – John Rees, and the reigning Ms. Veteran America – Cassandra Guzman. The Winter Garden Police and Fire Rescue Departments performed color guard duties with an invocation from Rodney Walls (Chaplain of American Legion Post 63). Geoff Bashioum, of the Winter Garden Fire Department, also graced the microphone with live performances of the “National Anthem” and “God Bless the USA.” A formal roll call and placement of wreaths for the servicemembers from Winter Garden who made "the ultimate sacrifice" was read aloud and was followed by a rendition of Taps, which was performed by Tim Levell (Vice Commander of the American Legion Post 63).
