Kurt Gies' Passes the Gavel

American Legion members, friends, and family honored outgoing Post 63 Commander Kurt Gies on July 14, 2024, at Cariera’s restaurant. During the “Passing of the Gavel” event, Kurt was praised for his seven years of leadership and thanked for his tireless work. Kurt has agreed to stay on as an Executive Board Committee member. Kurt was a pleasure to work with. David Kassander (1st Vice Commander) has been elected as the Post 63's new Commander.
